I spent a weekend at the Long Island Marriott Hotel with my family as part of our family adventure trip, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Although the rooms are smaller compared to other Marriott properties, they are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, ensuring a restful stay.

The service provided by the staff is good and attentive. However, one notable downside is that breakfast is not included, and the cost for the paid breakfast is quite high considering the quantity, taste, and variety offered.

The location is a strong advantage: the area is safe, convenient, and offers a pleasant view, which adds extra value to the stay. In summary, it is a good choice for those seeking comfort and a strategic location, although there is room for improvement in terms of value for money.

I have been traveling for business to this area and have been staying at the Long Island Marriott frequently since the end of September. My experience has been great, and many of the staff have exceeded my expectations. Karishma (apologies if the spelling is incorrect) has been the front desk agent that warmly greets me by name and checks me in the majority of the time. I appreciate her professionalism and pleasant demeanor, as well as the upgrades she is able to provide, if available, due to my loyalty status. Karishma's customer service made an excellent first impression.||The rooms I resided in have always been clean. They are a bit dated, however, renovations are underway. If you stay in a junior suite, you will be able to enjoy the balcony depending on the time of year you visit.||I usually visit the Concierge Lounge and both the morning and evening attendants are always very attentive, personable, and professional. Breakfast for the lounge is provided from the buffet, which has a nice selection. The hors d'oeuvres and desserts served in the evening are a satisfying snack. ||The bar and restaurant staff have also been kind, attentive, and always greet me warmly. The drink prices are a bit steep, and charging an additional fee to take it to the room makes it even more expensive. Therefore, I don't visit the bar often. So far, I've purchased wings, French onion soup, and a chicken quesadilla from the restaurant. Once again, it was a bit pricey, but the food was good. There are stores and restaurants a short drive away if you desire less expensive options. ||Overall, my experience here has been wonderful. I intend to obtain the names of the other front desk agents and staff that have allowed it to be so in order to update my review. The only undesirable issue I've had is getting stuck in elevator 3. The first time I was stuck for about five minutes, so I avoided it on my next visit. However, I decided to try it again on a subsequent visit and got stuck in elevator 3 for 20 minutes. It appeared it was under maintenance the next time I came because it wasn't operational. That being said, apart from this hiccup, I have enjoyed each of my stays and recommend this hotel when you are in the area.||

I have always stayed at this Marriott whenever I visit NY and I have never been disappointed. My last stay 2 weeks ago was no exception. The decorative Christmas display was outstanding. Gosia, who waited on me when I first arrived, was the perfect host. I highly recommend staying here.

This full-service Marriott did every thing right. This is a very modern, fairly large Marriott property. Everything worked well. Excellent service, well maintained and very clean. Large M lounge on the main floor. Very close to the Nassau Coliseum. Onsite parking is free.

I'm neutral overall on the hotel. Yes, it is surprisingly outdated. But it also seems really well maintained, at least from what I experienced (edit: spoke too soon. Noticed water leaking from the ceiling in my bathroom onto my toilet towards the end of my stay, rest of review is as originally written. Photos attached though now). My room and bathroom were all clean to my expectations and I'm fairly picky on that matter. Nothing seems broken, ripped, or torn. Outside of the design itself being old, the furnishings don't look tired. I've been to many much more modern hotels, some claiming to be 5-star, where there's mold issues and damaged/broken furnishings. Point being, I'd take outdated but we'll maintained over modern but poorly maintained.

All of the staff have been great. Exceeded my expectations for a Marriott property of this level. Service was closer to what I experience at 5-star locations. Much better than what I often experience in New York.

It loses a star for a symptom of its outdated design, the dreaded between-rooms shared dooway. No sound insulation in that doorway, so I heard all the coughing and music of my neighbor.

Loses another star for the environmental system. AC had good airflow and was cold, wonderful. But it runs on a motion sensor, so it'll turn off when you're laying in bed trying to sleep...which is a problem if you're trying to use the white noise to drown out your neighbor. Also, waking up hot and having to flail your arms around to activate the AC sucks. If the hotel really wants to save power, then do the European method of requiring the room key be left in a slot by the door to maintain A/C. That way the air will run without interruption when the room is occupied, but conserve energy when they leave.

I'd really like to give the place 4 stars, mostly because it's clean and the staff were all great. However, with two items which negatively effected my sleep, the main reason I'm here, I felt 3 was more accurate. But I think it's close to a 4. Modern updates would really help, but the items which haven't been modernized yet aren't small jobs... So I get it.

Not included in this rating: The hotel restaurant, which I would strongly NOT recommend from my dinner experience. Food just was not good at all, overcooked pasta, and overpriced. The breakfast was fine for American buffet style breakfast.

I hate this place. It has needed an update for probably 20 years. The rooms are dated and I think someone might have died in the armchair in my room. I had the thermostat set to 70 and after a few hours the room was 82, so I turned it down to 66 but the hot air kept coming. I’ve been standing holding my door open to the hallway for 20 minutes now hoping to cool it down. Also there was only one regular coffee pack in the room so when I was at the front desk I asked for a couple of them and was told they’d be sent to the room. After a couple hours I called down and was told they don’t have any more because it’s cold and it’s in high demand. What in the hell is going on here? I will avoid this place at all costs from now on. Ugh.

The rooms are nice but it can use some updating. The attendant in the m lounge is absolutely awesome. She has a warm smile and a greeting for everyone who enters. The setup is a little confusing but it works. The front desk staff is not what one would call warm but they're very accommodating.
