Gorgeous multifaceted well-maintained facility. In and out. No clutter, no fat. Clean facility. Everything appears streamlined to service many, while operating as though only a few. In other words, in another way of saying, this faulty abs its personnel seem to make their service to those in transit appear fairly easy. This of course translates to an ease to transit experience for the customer. Bathroom facilities immaculate considering the high level of human traffic in and out. Security pretended presence appropriate and not overbearing. This is a standardized public service facility. It sets the example. It essentially has what it takes to properly, electively and safely service those in transit, very well. Kudos to the on-site hot food court.

Weird, dirty , dingy station, no motion sensor doors, which is kinda important when traveling with bags. No screens showing train arrival times, there are ones for busses. People just random start lining up hoping the line is for the right train. Staff impatiently let you know there will be announcements later if you ever ask them anything. Those later Status updates by staff are infrequent if not nonexistent. It looks like the non obvious parts of the station are seldom cleaned. There are dust tumble weeds on the upper window sill. Charging ports are all in one counter area that forces you to stand next to it to charge your phone. The majestic husk of union station turned hotel is visible from the front door to remind you what a train station could be like. There is a weird train track crossing just front to exit eastward that kinda looks your supposed to be a subway ticket to use but you can just walk through. The crossing is potentially dangerous as you have to walk through actual tracks as they go around a corner.

My train leaves tomorrow and I'm a paying customer and they prefer I walk the streets until my train arrives

I have never seen a station uglier than this, but it gets the job done. Needs a serious overhall, and just overall beautification, this is a disgrace to our city. The sidewalks around the station are also not maintained.

This facility is the most embarrassing thing about St. Louis. Take the train to Chicago or Kansas City to see an actual train station. The amshack in St. Louis is very shameful. It’s just insanity to not have the trains routed through St. Louis Union Station.

Seating is limited so if you’re waiting for Amtrak, expect to sit on the dirty floor or stand. Bathrooms were not clean and employees are not helpful. Upgrade the seating so it’s more comfortable and add integrated USB charging ports.
